Polynesian Text - Chrome Add-on for Entering Polynesian Languages
Polynesian Text is a free Chrome add-on developed by jamespakele. It falls under the category of Browsers and specifically belongs to the subcategory of Add-ons & Tools. This extension provides a convenient popup that allows users to enter text using Polynesian characters, including Hawaiian (Poynesian) characters, vowels with macrons, and the proper okina or glottal stop character.
With Polynesian Text, users can simply use the alt key along with the desired vowel key combination to enter the vowel with a macron. Additionally, double tapping the shift key and then hitting a vowel will produce an uppercase vowel with a macron. Moreover, users can easily input the glottal stop character or 'okina by pressing the alt key and the apostrophe key.
If you are looking to enter Hawaiian, Māori, or other Polynesian languages in a popup and then copy and paste the text into your document, Polynesian Text is a great tool to have. However, if you encounter any issues with the Polynesian Keyboard extension, this add-on can be used as an alternative.
